1. What is Foot Reflexology? - Back to Top /\
Reflexology is pressure therapy through the application of constant thumb and finger
pressure to thousands of nerve endings, found on
both feet. Because of the relationship
that exists between these reflexes, and their corresponding part(s) in the body,
Reflexology initiates a mode of self-healing for pain control, strengthened immune system, and reduced stress and tension that can lead to many modern medical problems. Online Training Page (Enroll)
2. Is RRS an accredited online Reflexology school? Can I become certified
through RRS? - Back to Top /\
Yes, RRS functions as an online school, and we are accredited by The National
Accreditation and Certification Board. The instruction and training that you
will receive from RRS will qualify you as a certified Reflexologist (see questions
3, 4, and 5).

All graduates of RRS as Certified Reflexologists are eligible for Board Certification.
Upon student requests, RRS will make application for Certification to the National
Accreditation and Certification Board. Again, this third party Certification
is optional, in addition to the RRS Certification the student has earned.
3. For RRS Reflexology certification, will I be required to sit for the exam?
What if low scores require retesting? - Back to Top /\
After completion of the certificate and certification courses, you will
be required to take a written test for certification and email it to RRS (email
address found in course catalogs). You will also take a practical exam for
certification, which will be video taped on DVD or VHS and sent postal mail (mailing
address found in course catalogs). Any student not scoring high enough on
the first submission (test) may retest when ready (see question 17). RRS has not
placed a limit on the number of submissions (retesting) required by some to pass
the certification exam(s). To retest, students will follow the same instructions
outlined above. Certificate Catalog,

4. Will RRS certification allow me to practice reflexology anywhere in the U.
S.? In another country? - Back to Top /\
RRS is not a licensing agency. To be certified through RRS means
you are professionally trained and tested to posses the knowledge and skill to be
a certified Reflexologist (see questions 2 and 5). To start a reflexology
practice (business), you will need to check locally about governmental requirements.
You might find it helpful to contact your local city hall, business licensing department.
The same applies to those students who desire to practice Reflexology in another
country. RRS dose not supply a list of such legal requirements or places.

5. Will I be qualified to be board certified after completing RRS certification?
Apparently some, but not all boards, object to this form of online Reflexology
education. This objection is surprising when considering that accredited colleges
even utilize this form of education. One such opinion is that Reflexology
is a hands-on discipline and requires hands-on instruction. Yet, that selfsame
board requires only 10 hours of supervised practicum (hands on practice), from a
course involving only 110 hours, for an applicant to sit for their exam. RRS
certification, on the other hand, requires no less than 250 course hours.
140 of these hours are spent through hands-on training by practicing on foot subjects
(explained in the RRS catalogs), and through hands-on instruction by the RRS instructional
DVD’s. Being an accredited online Reflexology school, upon graduation, you
will also qualify to become board certified through The National Accreditation and
Certification Board. Each organization has its own set of requirements for
eligibility to sit for its exam. Due to the low hour requirements of some
boards, RRS favors the TNACB and doesn’t have any information regarding other testing
organizations.

All graduates of RRS as Certified Reflexologists are eligible for Board Certification.
Upon student requests, RRS will make application for Certification to the National
Accreditation and Certification Board. Again, this third party Certification
is optional, in addition to the RRS Certification the student has earned.
6. How can I learn online a hands-on therapy without hands-on instruction? -
Back to Top /\
RRS has an effective training program using multi-media technology ranging
from the course textbook; manual, and lectures, to instructional DVD’s and emailed
instructions. After you are trained by the instructor on the DVD’s and textbook
training, you will be able to video tape some of your practice sessions and send
them to RRS. This will allow your instructor to monitor your progress and
offer further training through emailed instructions. By viewing the RRS catalogs
you can learn more about how the Reflexology programs are successfully conducted.
As you may have concluded, this form of hands-on home study is actually like receiving
hands-on instruction, online. Certificate

7. Is online training less comprehensive and professional than onsite training?
Online education is now recognized by accredited colleges, and it is an
important part of their curriculum. Rather than having undo concern over online
verses resident training, it is in fact, competent technique that the Reflexologist
must demonstrate. This is what the employer, colleague, or client will look for
(see question 6). Because of the comprehensive nature of our courses, RRS
doesn’t even use any distinctive wording on the RRS certification diploma. Online

8. What subjects will I be taught in the certificate and certification courses?

9. What are the RRS tuition fees for the certificate and certification courses?
Is there a payment plan that I can use? - Back to Top /\
The tuition must be paid in full for each course. The certificate
course is $250 and the certification program is $450. RRS uses PayPal and
has no payment plan at this time. If you wish to pay the tuition fees for
both courses together, however, you will receive a $30 discount for a total tuition
fee of $670. No discount applies if you enroll in just one course at a time.
If you desire to enroll at this time, simply push the pay pal button for further
instructions. You may also pay by check or money order. If you choose
this mode of payment, click on the “Contact Information” page for mailing information.
Please make out check or money order to: Rittenhouse Reflexology. If there
are any questions regarding PayPal and what form of credit they accept, you will
need to contact them directly. We don’t have access to this information.

10. How do I enroll in RRS? Do I fill out an application form or provide
transcripts? - Back to Top /\
You are enrolled upon payment of tuition through pay pal or upon receipt
of check or money order (see question 9). No transcripts or forms are involved in
the RRS application process. It is that easy.

11. How do I begin the reflexology training? Will RRS send me information?
After you have followed the steps for enrollment, as outlined in question
10, RRS will e-mail you the “starting-up instructions” and login(s). Because
RRS is entirely online, you will have complete access to the program(s). Once
there, you can reference the “Table of Contents” in order to navigate through the
course materials. Also you will want to examine the specific catalog and syllabus
for the course you are taking. And it’s the syllabus in particular that will
direct you through the course of study. Therefore, no literature is sent out
to you, via postal mail.

12. Will I be required to order a textbook? Are there any other charges?
Yes, because the course textbook which is used for both courses, is not
included in the tuition fees. However, all other learning tools are included
in the tuition for both programs. There are no other charges. The book
can either be ordered online or at the book store.

13. How long after enrollment before I must complete the certificate and/or
certification courses? What is the average time taken by students to finish
the two programs? - Back to Top /\
There is no time constraint for either of the courses. We find though
that the learning experience is increased when the two courses are not completed
in less time than three months. It requires a certain amount of time to learn
the basic anatomy and to master this therapy. Some students have completed the courses
in three to four months, and others have taken as long as one year or longer.
14. Can I take only the certificate course or just the certification program?
If you want to learn basic Reflexology, then you only need to enroll in
the certificate course. If you have the goal of becoming a certified Reflexologist,
the certificate course is a prerequisite to enrollment into the certification program
and so both courses would need to be taken.

15. I have taken some Reflexology and some college anatomy classes. Is
it possible for me to skip some of the school’s curriculum? - Back to
Top /\
RRS has tailored the curriculum for your specific needs as a Reflexology
student. Even the anatomy and physiology in the courses are specific for learning
and using this natural therapy. For this reason, the complete curriculum for
both the certificate and certification programs consists of the requisite courses.
And your additional education will further benefit you in your Reflexology career.
16. Aside from foot Reflexology, will I learn other forms of Reflexology? -
Back to Top /\
There are different kinds of Reflexology that yield many health benefits,
like ear and hand forms. RRS specializes in teaching foot Reflexology. This
natural therapy has demonstrated a profound ability to stimulate a powerful healing
potential throughout the body. Because of the physiology of circulation in
the lower extremities of the body, and the uniquely sensitive and responsive nature
of nerve endings in the feet, RRS considers that Reflexology to the feet, hands,
or ears will stimulate a powerful healing effect throughout the body.

19. Since I live outside the US, should I expect any technical difficulty taking
this on-line training? - Back to Top /\
No, as long as you have on-line access, we are unaware of any problems
this might pose. The entire curriculum is on-line and can be copied and downloaded.
The courses are, however, taught only in English.
20. In order to view the courses; do I need any specific software or equipment
on my computer? - Back to Top /\
Generally, high-speed internet is recommended. Common high-speed
solutions include: DSL or Cable internet. Because various parts of the online
courses may need to be printed, this will require the use of a printer. Documents
may be presented in the PDF format (Adobe Reader) and will require that a user have
the Adobe Reader program installed. This program is free and available at:
www.adobe.com.
New students are emailed operation instructions for the online courses.
21. Does RRS require CEUs from their graduates? Can I earn CEUs by taking
these courses? - Back to Top /\
We do not have a policy requiring that the RRS certificant obtain continuing
education units (CEUs). As for being a CEUs provider, each individual will
need to check into the requirements for her/his own respective profession.
We do not have this information.
